Pluscamp Saltstraumen Camping is located close to the Saltstraum Bridge, along Kystriksveien (Rv17), only 33 kilometers from Bodø. From the campsite, it is a 2-3 minute walk down to the Saltstraumen, the world's strongest maelstrom. The salt current can reach a speed of about 24 knots and large eddies form when it is at its strongest.

From the campsite there is varied walking terrain, and part of the paths along the stream are adapted for wheelchairs. Proximity to mountain areas with many attractive top hikes, both summer and winter. The Saltstraumen has rich marine life, and fishing is possible from shore, or we can arrange boat hire. The diving center Nord & Ne is located about 2 km from the campsite and offers diving and snorkelling in the current.

City life in Bodø is only 40 minutes away with shops, cafes and restaurants, a rich concert scene, Nordlandsbadet and the Norwegian Aviation Museum.

There is a bus from Saltstraumen to Bodø several times a day.
